From the future, as of January 10th, 2008:
A brief history of the recent turbulence in the financial services sector is as follows.
In November of last year, Citi downgraded E*Trade and set a 15% chance of bankruptcy. Goldman Sachs downgraded Citi to a sell, forcing Citi to later downgrade GS from a strong buy to a mild buy. They both agreed on the point “Why the eff does E*Trade have subprime exposure?” Merrill Lynch has made plans to downgrade GS because of its heretofore unrevealed defense pact with Citi, but they are looking internally for a way to resolve it in the context of their downgrade non-proliferation treaty with Lehman and GS. Bank of America has been skating by nicely, but has its downgrade silos “hot and ready.” CSFB, in a defensive move, has unVoltronned itself and become two lion-like entities, CS and FB, who have been firing downgrades at all comers in order to safeguard the planet Arus from the forces of Zarkon. JP Morgan is sitting on the sidelines, just happy no one has noticed how fucked they really are. Bear Stearns has been downgraded to the point of not actually existing; nothing remains aside from a glassy plane and the remnants of ridiculously cheap compensation packages.

36 hours after our trip to Normandy & Brittany started, we have now eaten the following:
- 12 oysters from Cancale
- 3 crepes bretonnes
- An unbelievably amazing lobster braisé au cognac avec sa sauce (best lobster ever)
- Foie gras in many ways: au torchon in a salad with quails and truffles, fried with pate feuilleté with St-Pierre, etc.
- 8 Langoustines
- Even more fish and some shrimps…
- Some boeuf tenderloin
- Tons of desserts
I feel like my stomach is about to explose.. Tomorrow, we are going to Cancale for some more oysters; it is afterall one of the most well known points in France for these beasts…
I will put some pics and comments re our trip later…

I have been very lazy and busy and have thus not been able to update you all on my latest happenings. In approximately 7 hours, I will be on a train ride towards Montelimar in the Drome-Alps region (close to Avignon) for a nice relax weekend filled with amazing food and good fun.
Hopefully, I will find some time to write more about some of my oldest trips, including a couple of weeks ago, my time in Bayonne and then my trips to Pierre Gagnaire.

Subject: Sorry everyone
I’m leaving the bank now.
‘m not made to do this. If I put my mind to something as much as I do here to mindless text editing, copy and pasting, and getting yelled at for stuff other people can’t/won’t/don’t do, I would be much better off. It’s 6:43a.m. on a Sunday, and I have at least 14 more hours of work to do today that will not be fulfilling, useful, appreciated, recognized, or paid for.
Sorry this is last minute, but it’s just not worth doing more
My blackberry is on my desk
Apparently that failed staffing request was fatal (no, not as in I’m going to kill myself, hehe, I’m just going to go enjoy life). There is no happiness here.
I took all my personal stuff. No one needs to contact me for anything (except for a drink for those of you with my personal number). I will only be at my New York address a few days longer.
Good luck y’all,
XXXXXXXXXX
P.S. I’ll be waiting for some smart-ass associate to send a “best-practice e-mail for how to quit properly”. Thank you XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX for your previous e-mails. I will be sure to keep your tips in mind.
Finally here! September 27, 2007

I am talking about our internet. After two weeks of waiting, our Internet is finally active. To think, we used to complain about Bell Canada’s service..
